How Miró's sales team built in one week a financial model that used to take months

They removed the bottleneck with the product team. Now the sales team builds its own financial models and books meetings in record time.

3-6 months → <1 week complete financial model
Miró, a Kavanta success story

The challenge

Miró is a Chilean technology company that specializes in software for the banking industry. Its product suite serves some of the country’s leading banks, helping them manage everything from funding to sales operations with tools built to high technical and regulatory standards.

In banking, reaching the client with the right argument isn’t enough. You also have to be able to prove it. For Miró, that was a real obstacle. Every time the sales team wanted to present a new financial model, it had to rely on the product team to build it. And that could take months. Months in which the sales opportunity could cool off or be lost.

”It used to take us months to fully define a new service because of how complex the financial model behind it was.”
Wilibaldo Bravo Wilibaldo Bravo CEO, Miró

The solution

During the Scale Your Company with AI program, Miró’s sales team learned to build banking financial models on its own, combining its expert knowledge of the industry with public data sources. The result was its first complete financial model, documented and ready to present to an actual client, built in less than a week.

The following week, they already had a meeting confirmed. For the first time, the sales team could go to a client with its own financial model, without waiting months for the product team to build it.

”The impact for us is huge. It means independence for the sales team and the ability to produce more financial models with more value.”
Wilibaldo Bravo Wilibaldo Bravo CEO, Miró

Results: from months to one week

Building a complete banking financial model went from taking 3 to 6 months to less than a week.

From 3-6 months → under 1 week
Time to build a complete banking financial model

Other results

  • First meeting with an actual client confirmed right after the first model was finished
  • The sales team no longer depends on the product team to create new proposals
  • They opened the door to a new business model: modular solutions that can be rolled out quickly

Next steps

With its first financial model validated, Miró has already identified 20 new models to build, initiatives that used to wait months for capacity. As Wilibaldo puts it: “We see a huge shift in the company. Our change is huge, and it’s going to keep being huge.” The focus now is on turning this new speed into its main competitive advantage in Latin American banking.

”It’s rare for programs like this to actually deliver on their promise. They promised exactly what they delivered. Very well designed, very well structured, and all the one-on-one follow-up was perfect. Congratulations, keep it up.”
